Hi there! I’m Jimmy Duong, I am a Product Designer currently looking for full time employment in the San Francisco Bay Area. I offer 10 years of experience as a Graphic Designer, resulting in an understanding of hierarchy, typography, grid systems, and branding.

I have recently graduated from GrowthX Academy in the UX Design accelerator program. There I learned the concepts and tools of user centered design, and worked with 3 clients on live projects. At GrowthX I practiced sketching, storytelling, ideating, critiquing, iterating, and presenting as well as many other indispensable UX skills.

I love beautiful and aesthetic things, and I personally enjoy seeing my imagination become a reality. In my time as a graphic designer, I realized that I was doing very little research in validating if my designs are successful. At the end of the day, I was making my clients happy, but there was no way to measure if I was making the end users happy. As much as I love to make beautiful designs, I also want my ideas to affect real people. Becoming an experience designer was the next logical step in my career. This allowed me a way into the minds and hearts of the customers in order to craft an experience that better serves them through methods such as user research and usability testing.

 

I graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a BFA in Graphic Design. I have created designs from branding and logo design, to brochures and business cards, to large scale marketing materials and building wraps for conventions and events.

 

In my free time I like to illustrate and create digital paintings. I'm a huge comic book nerd. A few years ago I sold some of my artwork at the Artist Alley at Anime Expo.
